Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition hosted its 22nd Annual Fall Dinner & Rally, Saturday 17th at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.  Activists from every corner of the state—1,000 strong—enjoyed good food and conversation and were treated to hearing from Iowa’s top political leaders.  Numerous people commented it was the best IFFC event yet.  In fact, Kim Lehman, Iowa’s former Republican National Committeewoman, commented that it was the best event that she had ever attended in her lifetime!

State Representative Eddie Andrews (R-Johnston) did a superb job as Master of Ceremonies.  Eddie and State Representative Cherielynn Westrich (R-Ottumwa) led in singing the National Anthem, as well as singing Happy Birthday to Senator Grassley.  Governor Reynolds, Senator Grassley, and Iowa’s three GOP congressman and women shared their vision of the stakes for the 2022 election.  Nearly every candidate for Iowa’s constitutional offices were also in attendance.

Our two special guest speakers were phenomenal—Lt. Governor Mark Robinson (R-NC) and talk radio host, author and Fox News personality Larry Elder.  Mark is probably the most dynamic speaker of our time.  He set the “crowd on fire.”  The Lt. Governor challenged attendees to do their part in making a difference.  Prioritizing God in our lives and staying true to His principles was a theme he emphasized again and again.

Likewise, Larry Elder’s comments were targeted at the importance of activists being totally engaged going into the Midterms.  Larry pointed out the hypocrisy of the Radical Left on stolen elections.

Both Mark and Larry spoke of the challenges they faced growing up—coming from broken homes, and their determination to overcome high obstacles.  Some were moved to tears by their personal stories.

The 2022 Friend of the Family Award was given to Betty Odgaard and her late husband Richard.  The Odgaard’s owned a facility that hosted, among other things, weddings, and receptions.  They were sued by two men who wanted to marry at their venue.  Because of their religious principles, they refused to rent the facility to them.  The devastation—both financially and emotionally, was overwhelming, but they clung to their faith more than ever through that dark time.

My personal thanks go in particular to Diana Hansen, Heather Scheffler, Cris Christenson, Will Rogers, and all the IFFC board members, all the volunteers, who made this event a smashing success!

You won’t want to miss the 2023 IFFC Spring Kickoff and Fall Dinner & Rally!!  They will be bigger and better than ever!!
